Core Values

Core Values – Putting our faith into action

Our core values are based on what Jesus said in Mark 12:30-31: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

  • An intimate personal relationship with God our Father and Creator, whose image we bear and whose covenant we are part of (our identity and security is in God). Eph. 3:17-19.

  • The development of discipleship leaders. Luke 5:10.

  • Unconditional surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ who alone is the Savior of all Mankind. James 4:7-10

  • A radical dependence on the empowering presence and gifting of the Holy Spirit today in every believer and the church body. Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:8-11.

  • God’s healing power in our world today. Isaiah 53:4-5

  • Building up the Body of Christ in the Five-Fold gifting for the fulfillment of the Kingdom work. Ephesians 4:11-13.

  • The Bible as God’s word – absolutely dependable, relational, and relevant in equipping all people for life. 2nd Timothy 3:16-17

  • Power of prayer to bring us into God’s presence and to change realities. James 5:16 • Placing others before ourselves, Matthew 23:12
  • Discipling others so they can grow in their relationship with Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20.

  • Inspiring and joyful worship that engages the heart, mind, and spirit to praise and honor the Lord. John 4:22-23

  • Relationships as the most important facet of human existence. 1 Peter 1:22-23 • Unity as the true state of the body of Christ, striving to keep ourselves one in the Spirit and binding ourselves together in peace. Ephesians 4:3.

  • Peaceable conflict resolution. Matthew 18:15-17.

  • A balanced approach to our faith, worshiping with equal awe of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:13-17

  • We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one biological man and one biological woman in a single, exclusive, lifelong union that is intended to be generative in nature, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5, Hebrews 13:4).

  • The priesthood of all believers. 1 Peter 2:4-10
